Hue Festival 2020 has been canceled
On the afternoon of February 20, the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2020 has decided that the 11th Hue Festival in 2020 will take place from August 28, 2020 to September 02, 2020.
Due to the global epidemic of COVID-19, the Hue Festival 2020 in early April of 2020 seems to be infeasible. With the intention to ensure local residents’, tourists’ and artists’ health and safety, the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2020 has agreed to delay the Festival.
The 11th Hue Festival in 2020 with its theme “Cultural Heritage together with Integration and Development – Hue: Always something new to discover” is rescheduled to August 28 – September 02, 2020. The already-planned theme, contents, and duration (6 days and nights) remain the same. The Festival will occur right on the National Day, which is a favorable time for tourism activities in late summer and early autumn.
The official Opening ceremony is at 20:00 on August 28, 2020; Closing ceremony is at 20:00 on September 02, 2020.
More than 20 international art troupes are expected to attend and perform at Hue Festival 2020.
The Organizing Committee hopes that Hue Festival 2020 will be one of the major tourism stimulus activities, attracting domestic as well as foreign visitors after a long delay caused by the COVID-19 epidemic.
